The Ministry of Education established the Malay Language Learning and Promotion Committee (MLLPC) in February 2006, following the Malay Language Curriculum and Pedagogy Review Committee (MLCPRC) recommendations. Comprising community leaders and representatives from tertiary institutions, Malay organisations, media and professional bodies, the Committee aims to enthuse students in learning Malay and foster interest in the language, literature and culture.
