AGAB 2026 for teachers who've shaped students' lives

Overview

Every year, some teachers go beyond the syllabus, the ones students remember long after they've left the classroom. AGAB 2026 recognises Malay Language teachers who have made that kind of difference, through an award jointly organised by

  • Majlis Bahasa Melayu Singapura (MBMS)

  • Persatuan Guru Bahasa Melayu Singapura

  • Berita Harian

  • Malay Language Learning and Promotion Committee (MLLPC)

The award has two main categories:

  1. Perangsang, for teachers with under 10 years of service

  2. Teladan, for those with 10 years or more.

Judges look at how well a teacher has nurtured students' interest in the Malay language, literature, and culture, and how creative they've been in their approach, including the use of technology.

Nominations were open from 2 February to 13 March 2026 and could be submitted by teachers, students, parents, or members of the public. That window has now closed.
