The MLLPC marked its 20th anniversary on 19 September 2026 with a public community festival called Pesta Rakyat, themed around two decades of promoting the Malay language. The event featured cultural performances, a partner appreciation ceremony, and a short story writing competition award presentation. Established by MOE in 2006, the MLLPC works with schools, community groups, and media organisations to promote Malay language, literature, and culture beyond the classroom.
