Enhancements to the Cultural Performance Exposure Fund

MLLPC enhanced the Cultural Performance Exposure Fund to extend support to higher education students and encourage greater exposure to Malay cultural performances.

The Malay Language Learning and Promotion Committee (MLLPC) announced enhancements to the Cultural Performance Exposure Fund (CPEF), including extending the fund to students from Institutes of Higher Learning offering Malay Language programmes.

Additional funding would also be provided to schools offering the Malay Language Elective Programme to encourage students to attend Malay cultural performances. The enhancements were announced by Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Education and Chairperson of MLLPC, Associate Professor Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, during an engagement session with Malay performing arts groups and took effect from 2 January 2020.

Launched in March 2017, the CPEF aims to enrich Malay Language learning by exposing students to Malay cultural performances. By 2019, the fund had benefited more than 5,500 students from 125 schools.
