Fiesta Bahasa 2025: Celebrating a Decade of Language Promotion

Fiesta Bahasa 2025 marked its 10th anniversary with a special celebration themed Mencetus Pemikiran, Meneraju Perubahan, highlighting the Malay language’s role in fostering critical thinking and creative expression in the digital era. The event was graced by Guest-of-Honour Dr Syed Harun Alhabsyi, Chairman of MLLPC.

The celebration featured the inaugural Pertandingan Cipta Kata, which attracted over 130 students from 66 primary and secondary schools, as well as the Peraduan Menulis Cerpen Orang Singapura, which received more than 550 entries from 112 schools and pre-university institutions. Thirty students were recognised as winners of the short story competition.

The event also saw 350 students and members of the public set a new Singapore Book of Records for the largest traditional Malay mass dance, accompanied by the song Orang Singapura. Two new animated language ambassadors, Arif and Suri, were also introduced.

Organised by MLLPC, Fiesta Bahasa promotes confidence and enjoyment in learning and using the Malay language through creative expression, innovative platforms and interactive learning experiences.
