Month-Long Game Show Set to Spark Students' Interest in Malay Language and Culture
17 August 2022
MLLPC and Mediacorp launched *Cepat Tepat*, a televised game show that engaged upper primary students in learning Malay language and culture through quizzes and traditional games.
The Malay Language Learning and Promotion Committee (MLLPC), in collaboration with Mediacorp, organised the weekly televised game show Cepat Tepat to spark and sustain students’ interest in the Malay language and culture beyond the classroom. Held as part of Bulan Bahasa 2022, the programme was broadcast on Suria from 19 August to 16 September 2022.
Targeted at upper primary students, Cepat Tepat tested contestants’ knowledge of Malay language and culture through quizzes and activities such as Peribahasa and traditional games. Eight primary schools competed in the quarterfinals, with four advancing to the finals. Dr Maliki Osman, Second Minister for Education and Chairperson of MLLPC, presented prizes to the finalists at the final episode.
Students could also participate in accompanying Cepat Tepat radio programmes on Ria 897 and Warna 942, answering questions on Malay idioms for a chance to win book vouchers.
