New Malay Language Programme Aims to Make Learning Come Alive for Children at the Zoo

The Malay Language Learning and Promotion Committee (MLLPC), in collaboration with Mandai Wildlife Group, launched Kembara Nusantara, a new pre-school programme that promotes Malay Language learning through fun and interactive activities at Singapore Zoo. The programme includes a one-day workshop to equip pre-school teachers with the skills and resources to conduct engaging learning journeys, supporting MLLPC’s efforts to make Malay a living language.

Dr Mohamad Maliki Osman, Second Minister for Education and Chairperson of the MLLPC, launched the programme at the Forest Lodge of Singapore Zoo. He highlighted the importance of learning languages beyond the classroom and equipping teachers with the skills to facilitate such experiences. He also visited interactive booths showcasing Kembara Nusantara resources and activities conducted by pre-school teachers.
