New Record Set for Largest Display of Original Malay Poems at 5th Malay Language Fiesta

The 5th Fiesta Bahasa saw over 60 schools and community partners set a new Singapore Book of Records with a display of 764 original pantun.

More than 60 schools and community partners came together to set a new Singapore Book of Records for the largest display of 764 original Malay poems (pantun) at the 5rd Fiesta Bahasa.

Organised biennially by the Malay Language Learning and Promotion Committee (MLLPC), the festival aims to encourage the use and appreciation of the Malay language beyond the classroom through interactive learning activities, literature and cultural experiences.

Themed Bahasa Gemilang, Minda Cemerlang, the event featured interactive booths by preschools, primary and secondary schools, and the National Library Board. It also recognised winners of the Bicara Berirama and 1, 2, 3, Aksi! competitions, which saw more than 390 students from 47 schools participate.
