Nominations Open: Arif Budiman Malay Language Teachers' Award 2020

Students, educators, parents and members of the public were invited to nominate outstanding Malay Language teachers for the Arif Budiman Malay Language Teachers’ Award (AGAB) 2020. The award recognises teachers in primary and secondary schools, junior colleges and Millennia Institute for their significant contributions to Malay Language teaching and learning.

Since its inception in 2007, AGAB had recognised 61 Malay Language teachers across primary, secondary and pre-university levels. In 2020, four awards were presented across two categories: Primary School, and Secondary School & Pre-university.

Nominees were assessed based on their ability to develop students’ knowledge, skills and interest in the Malay language, literature and culture; their dedication to excellence in teaching; their care for students’ well-being; and their demonstration of Arif Budiman values through exemplary service as educators.

Nominations were open from 24 February to 10 April 2020. AGAB 2020 was jointly organised by the Malay Language Council, Singapore, Malay Language Teachers Association, Berita Harian and the Malay Language Learning and Promotion Committee, with recipients announced in November 2020.
