Nominations Open for Arif Budiman Malay Language Teacher Award 2022

AGAB 2022 invited nominations to recognise outstanding Malay Language teachers for their contributions to teaching, student well-being and the promotion of Malay language and culture.

Students, educators, parents and members of the public were invited to nominate outstanding Malay Language teachers for the Arif Budiman Malay Language Teacher Award (AGAB) 2022. The award recognises teachers across primary and secondary schools, junior colleges and Millennia Institute for their significant contributions to Malay Language teaching.

Since its inception in 2007, AGAB has recognised 69 Malay Language teachers across primary, secondary and pre-university levels. In 2022, awards were presented in two categories: Motivation for teachers with fewer than 10 years of service, and Role Model for those with 10 years or more.

Nominees were assessed on their ability to nurture students’ knowledge, skills and interest in the Malay language, literature and culture, support their well-being, and embody the values of Arif Budiman through exemplary service as educators.

Jointly organised by the Malay Language Council, Singapore, Malay Language Teachers Association, Berita Harian and MLLPC, the 2022 award recipients were announced in November.
