Three Teachers Lauded for Outstanding Contributions to Teaching and Learning of Malay Language

Three Malay Language teachers were recognised for their outstanding contributions to Malay Language teaching and learning at the Arif Budiman Malay Language Teacher Award Ceremony on 1 November 2025. The awards were presented by Guest-of-Honour Ms Indranee Rajah, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister for Finance and National Development.

Since its inception in 2007, the Awards have recognised 80 Malay Language teachers across primary, secondary and pre-university levels. The Awards comprise two categories: the Role Model Category for teachers with 10 or more years of service, and the Motivation Category for those with fewer than 10 years of service.

In 2025, 396 nominations were received from Malay Language teachers in local mainstream schools, based on their contributions from 2023 to 2024. Recipients were selected by a panel comprising community leaders, academics, school leaders and media representatives.

The Arif Budiman Malay Language Teacher Award is jointly organised by the Malay Language Council Singapore, Malay Language Teachers Association, Berita Harian and the Malay Language Learning and Promotion Committee.
