Three Teachers Recognised for Their Contributions to Teaching and Learning of Malay Language

Three Malay Language teachers were recognised at the 2023 Arif Budiman Malay Language Teacher Award for their contributions to teaching and learning.

Three Malay Language teachers were honoured with the Arif Budiman Malay Language Teacher Award for their contributions to Malay Language teaching and learning. The awards were presented by Guest-of-Honour Mr Edwin Tong, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister for Law.

In its 17th year, the Awards had recognised 74 Malay Language teachers across primary, secondary and pre-university levels. In 2023, 261 nominations were received for 53 teachers, with recipients selected by a panel comprising community leaders, academics, school leaders and media representatives.

The Awards are presented in two categories: Role Model for teachers with 10 or more years of service, and Motivation for those with fewer than 10 years. The award is jointly organised by the Malay Language Council Singapore, Malay Language Teachers Association, Berita Harian and MLLPC.
