Getting Your Performance Approved
Organisers and performing arts groups are strongly advised to send performance information as early as possible so it can be made available on the MLLPC website for schools and institutions. This allows sufficient time for schools to plan student attendance.
Performance Eligibility Criteria
Your performance must meet these requirements:
Cultural and theatrical performances performed in Malay language
Performed locally in Singapore
Ticket prices below $50 (for primary/secondary students) or below $70 (for post-secondary/tertiary students)
Non-local artistes may be involved as long as the performance is performed locally and meets CPEF criteria
Submission Process
Submit your performance details to MLLPC Secretariat as early as possible for inclusion in the approved programmes list. Schools will reference this list when planning their bookings.
Working with Schools
Once your performance is approved:
Schools will contact you directly to confirm bookings
You will bill schools/institutions directly
Schools process payment through their downloaded CPEF funds
Required documents from schools: booking form, confirmed attendance list, invoice
Optimal Scheduling Guidelines
For mainstream schools, junior colleges and centralised institutes:
Best periods: Term 1 and Term 2
Avoid: Term 3 and Term 4 (due to national examinations)
Post-exam periods: Usually weeks 9-10 of Term 4
For primary schools:
Avoid weekends and night shows (requires additional administrative arrangements)
Schedule during school terms for easier logistics
For post-secondary institutions:
Check individual academic calendars
Refer to www.moe.gov.sg for updated school term information
Additional Funding Opportunities
You may also apply for MLLPC's Supported Programme Funding for performance production through the online application system at www.mllpc.sg. Applications are reviewed by the MLLPC Budget Committee, and non-profit organisations meeting MLLPC objectives will be considered subject to funding guidelines.
Important: When a performance is funded by MLLPC, you must declare income from ticket sales. MLLPC considers both expenditure incurred and income received when reviewing claims.
